Object of the week: FVP vehicle distribution print
The switches and sensors on vehicles generate a lot of information that is transmitted through cables and triggers an action on the vehicle. All these signals converge in the FVP (vehicle distribution board) and are forwarded from there to the correct cables and receivers.
Up to 22 connectors with up to 20 pins in some cases can be plugged into the FVP. Among other things, there are connections to the battery management system, the ignition lock, the horn, the trailer socket, the control unit or the charger. Connections to the DCDC converter, the fleet box, the seat switch or the rear lights are further connections. The traction current to the engine does not run via the FVP.
Care has been taken to ensure that the various connectors on the PCB are all different, so that no connector from the wiring harness can be plugged into the wrong place on the PCB.
The ongoing development of the vehicles leads to regular adaptations of the FVP. More than a dozen versions are recorded in the article database. Which version of the FVP fits which vehicle is documented on the leaflet "MB014 Versions of the components". By the way, the current version V4.8.1 fits all vehicle versions.
The company DUXON in Tuggen, which is also KYBURZ service partner for postal vehicles, produces the FVP in Switzerland and also equips it with the connectors and electronic elements.
