News from KYBURZ Asia
Anyone who has ever been on holiday in Thailand will be familiar with the typical Thai "long tail boats", which take you quickly, uncomfortably and with a lot of burnt petrol smell across the canals and rivers.
This type of boat was electrified with Swiss support and realised locally by Rolf Aeschbacher from the company AERO Solar and Automation Co. Ltd.
The boat can be used almost self-sufficiently when it is used as a shuttle boat; with longer rest periods in the harbours each time. This gives the large solar roof enough time to charge energy for the return trip.
The boat has been upgraded with a KYBURZ Fleet System, which can transmit position and other technical data. At the moment it is still on dry land, but very soon the boat will be roaring through the "Khlong", as the Thai canals are called.
In Freienstein we are also looking into electric boats. Which team will be the first to go electric? We'll stay tuned.
