A Day in the Life of Nicolas Cukas
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Nicolas Cukas: I have been with KYBURZ for 3 years since 1 May.
Erza: What are your activities?
Nicolas: I work in the Fleet Management team as a Senior Frontend Engineer. My main job is to develop new features for our platforms. In addition, there are many other activities, such as planning new products or features, meetings, design workshops, code reviews and sprint planning/preparation.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Nicolas: Every morning we always have a Daily Standup, which is like a small team meeting. In this, we coordinate with each other and exchange ideas. In the course of the day, there are other meetings and conversations among ourselves. Even if you don't think it, in software development communication is an essential skill and therefore an important basis for a programmer. Of course, a large part of my day also goes into programming new features and thus into the further development of our product. Another part of my work consists of sprint planning and design workshops every now and then.
Erza: What do you like? What do you like less?
Nicolas: There is nothing I don't like about what I do. I like the interactions with different people, solving complex problems and proving my creativity every day.
It's also nice to see that everyone in my team works with full passion. That's an extra motivation.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Nicolas: In general, I am very passionate about technology. I teach at a technical college how to develop virtual reality and in my free time, I am working with a small team on a virtual reality game at the same time. In addition, I am filming and photographing and trying my hand at VFX (computer-generated effects in films). A big-time eater at the moment is my Master's thesis in Human-Computer Interaction Design, which I will finish at the end of the year.
