The phenomenon was already known in the senior vehicles: When getting on and off, the grazing soles of shoes left abrasions and scratches on the battery cover. As delivery staff frequently get on and off, unsightly spots were expected. With the introduction of the DXP, the cover was covered with a rubber for the first time. 

The NBR rubber used is very weather-resistant and also resistant to oils and greases. The rubber, which is self-adhesive on one side, is glued to the plastic cover by hand during production. The rubber has proven its worth and is now also installed in senior vehicles.

The rubber mat on the battery cover - affectionately called "waterfall" at KYBURZ due to its visual appearance - is nothing more than a protection against scratches and abrasion.
